New Luxury Outlets at Destiny USA Could Bring More Job Opportunities

Destiny USA continues to add to its plethora of available stores and this new wave is bringing in some high end brands. Companies such as Giorgio Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo and Johnson & Murphy now have outlet locations in Destiny’s newest wing.

Neighborhood safety was the hot topic at the second annual Neighborhood Action Conference held at Fowler High School this past weekend.  Some residents feel fighting crime isn’t rocket science; it’s a matter of starting out small with the family and the neighborhood at the center.

People who might want to open up shop in Syracuse got the red carpet treatment from the Downtown Committee Thursday.  The Downtown Committee’s Retail Recruitment event is hoping to capitalize on recent changes. 

One group of would-be business owners gathered at Cafe Kubal and saw the brisk business of the cappuccino makers and coffee purveyors in the relatively new business.

Follow This Design to Find Syracuse's Creekwalk

A logo has been selected through online voting to help joggers, bicyclists, walkers with strollers and others to the Onondaga Creekwalk.  The design was selected out of three that were put up on a website.  It will be put on dozens of signs the mark the path of the Creekwalk and directions to it.

The designs were all created by classes in Syracuse University's School of Visual and Performing Arts.  Voting took place between October 2nd and 9th.

Next Four Neighborhood Meetings on I-81 Viaduct Scheduled

The State Department of Transportation has released the schedule of the next four neighborhoods meetings about the future of I-81 through Syracuse.  About 100 people turned out for the first one held two weeks ago in Toomey Abbott Towers, a stone’s throw from the highway.
