This is our 6th annual Vision Board workshop. A Vision Board a visual representation of your goals and desires either in images, words or both. It is designed to serve as a visual road map that can guide us to clarity. It’s a time for women to come together and share and plan. This year’s theme is We Are Community-A Call to Service! Why? Our local community is one of the poorest cities and is in the top 15 for worst cities for African-Americans. Also, we recognized that the policies coming out of Washington are increasingly “hostile” toward People of Color and low-income residents. We want to encourage our sister-friends to take a moment and create a bold vision of what we can accomplish if we work collectively. We are encouraging people to identify an organization and make a commitment. Lastly, we are excited to present a panel that will talk about the importance of community and service.
