Works by Rachael Ikins at EYE Studio March 2nd - 29th How do you survive turmoil and illness? What keeps a woman from giving up in the face of loss? For Rachael Ikins the life line was her dream of success as an artist. Whether she was scribbling poems on napkins, snapping pictures of flowers with her point and shoot camera or doodling drawings, art was the dream that kept her putting one foot in front of the other. She submitted for decades with more rejections than acceptances. But she persisted. A graduate of Syracuse University, Rachael Ikins is a 2018, 2016 Pushcart, and 2013, 2018 CNY Book Award nominee, 2018 Independent Book Award nominee award winning poet/artist. Her artwork has appeared and won prizes in one-woman and group exhibits in Syracuse galleries and from Hamilton to Albany and the NYS Fair and her writing in journals around the world. She has published 6 chapter books and a novel, cover art by Rachael.
