WAER Media Sponsorship Policy
WAER can be a valuable asset in getting the word out for your event. Through a reciprocal partnership, a WAER media sponsorship can provide a comprehensive marketing effort that includes promotion on air, through the WAER website and social networks, and in the electronic newsletter with over 1000 subscribers.. Sponsorship messages are aired run of schedule (based on availability). Should your organization wish to secure specific guaranteed positioning (i.e. during NPR drive times or various weekend programming), then WAER’s Underwriting Department will be happy to work with you to establish a comprehensive schedule. Media sponsorships are not guaranteed and are contingent on availability and reciprocating benefits.
Here are the steps that an interested organization must take in order to be considered for a media sponsorship:
• Contact WAER 6-8 weeks in advance of the event with a detailed description of the event
•Provide a detailed description of the benefits to WAER, including the associated value in dollars
•Provide a detailed description of the desired efforts from WAER (the associated value in dollars to be determined by the underwriting department)
•WAER can provide staff and emcee if available
•Obtain a written endorsement of the agreement from WAER management
•Provide basic information (the who, what and when), which will allow WAER staff to compose the best possible script, within the FCC guidelines, for the organization (WAER writes all sponsorship scripts)
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Organizations that enter a contract directly with WAER personalities do not constitute a media sponsorship agreement, and do so without the benefits of an official media sponsorship. Any contractual agreement outside of an official media sponsorship does not entitle the organization to use the WAER logo, or to any of the other benefits listed in this policy.
