Hundreds of Central New Yorkers stood in line outside Sunnycrest Ice Rink for a ticket to see President Obama speak at Henninger High School this Thursday.  Their excitement filled the air.

Syracuse Mayoral Candidate Pat Hogan Releases Plan to Rebuild Neigborhoods

Syracuse mayoral candidate Pat Hogan wrapped up his weekly policy agenda announcements Monday by unveiling his plan to re-build the city’s neighborhoods.  


In previous weeks, Hogan has released his plans for improving education, equal rights, public safety, and jobs and the economy.  Hogan says focusing on the social fabric of the city is also important. 


Hogan says he’ll be just as engaged and accessible when he’s mayor as he is as common councilor.  Alfonso Davis is also in the race to try and unseat incumbent Stephanie Miner.

Police Taser Policy Draws Questions at Syracuse Common Council Meeting after Shock of Disabled Man

The incident of Syracuse police using a taser on a man on a Centro bus has raised questions about use of force policies.  Among the complaints are charges that top city officials are ignoring the issue.

Ian Eagle Inducted Into WAER Hall of Fame

Veteran sports broadcaster Ian Eagle '90 was inducted into the WAER Hall of Fame on Friday August 16, 2013 at the Joseph I Lubin House in Manhattan, NY.

Eagle is most notably known as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Brooklyn Nets on the YES network for the past 18 seasons.  His work on YES earned him a New York Emmy for play-by-play earlier this year.  In addition to his Nets duties, Eagle also broadcasts NFL football, NCAA basketball and Tennis for CBS Sports.
