SU Football Starts Camp

The Syracuse University football team officially opened camp on Monday, August 5th, under 1st-year head coach Scott Shafer. Shafer takes over for the Orange entering the program's first year in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). SU is coming off a very successful 2012 season in which it won the New Era Pinstripe Bowl for the second time in three years.

Sunday was the first of many opportunities for the media to talk to both Shafer and Syracuse players.

Mortgage Loans Continue To Rise Nationally and in New York State

Existing home sales were up nationally in July and Central New Yorkers are likely shopping around because of low interest rates.  Mortgage loan originations climbed six percent this year when compared to the first and second quarter of last year.  There are many factors driving the market these days according to a Chase Mortgage Executive.  Lisa Foradori feels the steady unemployment rates could play a significant role.

Robotics Camp Gives Syracuse Students a Chance at National Competition

Middle and high school students in the Syracuse City School District are taking time during their summer break to learn what could be a high-tech job skill. Starting from scratch, students combined metal with gears, motors, chains, batteries and remote control signals to produce mobile contraptions during a two-week robotics camp.
