When I was a boy I had a crystal radio rigged up on the headboard of my bed so that the weight of a clothespin pulled the earphone out of my ear after I fell asleep. Seems like I have always loved radio…
I started working in radio in 1985 as a volunteer announcer at KSTK, Wrangell, Alaska. I later took a job there and left as their Program Director. I then worked as Assistant Manager/Program Director at KHSU, Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. I was offered a world class opportunity to help build a public radio station on Guam and went to KPRG as Director of Programming & Operations. I now hold that same title at WAER and have been here since 1996. My position is responsible for how we sound and the smooth day to day operation of the station. I am also a computer geek and I help maintain the stations IT systems.
I believe that public radio provides listeners with great opportunities for honesty and discovery through news and diverse music. I also appreciate WAER’s involvement within the community
I have always had a passion for music and have played bass for many years. I live with my wife and two cats and a dog. I enjoy reading, music, camping and computers.
