It’s not every day that an award winning Nascar Driver rolls into Syracuse. However, Danica Patrick joined forces with Aspen Dental today at Syracuse University to offer free Dental Care with a mobile dentistry office that’s catering to Veterans who are in need of some dental care.
“It was honor to come up here today and welcome the first patient of the day into the Mouth Mobile and to see Aspen not only giving back to communities, paying it forward and giving free oral care because they believe in the importance of that so much and know how important it is. But, then to give back to veterans, it’s really my honor to be here.”
One of the first customers of the day led to the ‘Mouth Mobile’ was Megan Deban from Pulaski. The US Navy Veteran was waiting for the results of her x-rays.
“Nervously waiting, I have a bad tooth.”
John Higgins is a full-time SU Student and is also a Navy Veteran. He decided to get a free dental check-up and was led into the Mobile unit by none other than the famous race car driver.
“Very cool. She was great, very nice, came in, brought us right onto the bus. Talked with us for a little bit. A great host, she was incredible.”
The Mouth Mobile is part of a greater initiative by Aspen Dental and Oral Health America to create the Healthy Mouth Movement. It’s a pledge to provide thousands of people who don’t have a means to visit the dentist the care they need. This Saturday, 21 Aspen Dental Offices in New York State will offer free dental services. Pre-registration is required. The number is 844-229-0070. The event at SU was hosted by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families.
