Greek Peak's New Owners Hold Music Festival to Increase Summertime Business
The owners of Greek Peak Ski Resort hope to make their Peakfest Music Festival an annual event. The also hope it will spur more visitors to the resort for things other than skiing.
The first Peakfest features a lineup of classic rock bands to draw attention, including Dave Mason, Pure Prairie League and Firefall. New York based Professor Louie and the Chromatix followed Todd Hobin to round out the musical lineup.
Marc Stemerman and John Meier bought the resort out of bankruptcy in the spring of 2013. Stemerman says they had a lucrative ski season, but need to increase business at other times of the year. The Hope Lake Lodge and a waterpark are part of the resort. Stemerman also added a large tent to use the setting and facilities for weddings.
The Peakfest drew a crowd that looked to be between 700 and 1000.
