Local Head Shop owner gets jail sentence for violating court order

The owner of a Syracuse head shop will spend 60 days in jail after violating a court order for selling synthetic drugs.  Attorney General Eric Schneiderman had sought the punishment for Gary Schiffer, who owns Twisted Headz.  The complaint says he made and sold a substance called “extreme rampage” in direct violation of a previous court order not to sell synthetic drugs.  D-E-A agents found 29-hundred packets of the substance in Schiffer’s car.

“This is blatantly illegal drug manufacturing and dealing that flies in the face of a previous court order, and it will not be tolerated,” Schneiderman said. “We have seen the devastation caused by synthetic drug abuse, and my office will continue to prosecute those who pollute our communities with dangerous designer drugs.”

A Syracuse judge issued Schiffer the jail sentence as well as a total of 26-thousand dollars in fines
