The last two Syracuse point guards are both headed to Milwaukee as part of a three-team trade, according to an ESPN report. Michael Carter-Williams and Tyler Ennis were traded to the Bucks on Thursday, along with center Miles Plumlee. The ex-Orange stars will play for former point guard Jason Kidd, whose team has a 30-23 record this season and sits at sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
Carter-Williams is expected to replace Brandon Knight in the starting lineup, who was traded to Phoenix in the deal. Carter-Williams' former team, the Philadelphia 76ers, received a 1st round draft pick in the exchange.
Ennis was Phoenix's first round pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, but has been relegated to the Developmental League for most of the season. In eight regular season games with the Suns, Ennis averages 2.8 points in only 7.3 minutes.
Carter-Williams, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, averages 15.0 points per game in his sophomore season. But his shooting percentages have gone down and his turnover totals have gone slightly up. He had been rumored to be in trade talks throughout the season as the 76ers (12-41) sit at second to last in the Eastern Conference.
I can't lie I'm shocked. I love this city thank you for everything. I can honestly say I gave it my all. I wish Philly nothing but the best
