WAER's Scott Willis and Katie Zilcosky traveled to Washington with veterans to visit monuments and reflect on their service - some dating back to World War II. Most had never seen the national monuments to the wars and sacrifice in which they took part.

Career highlights include having work appear on NPR, CBS, ABC and other news networks, winning numerous local and state journalism awards.
