  Lobbying for and against the minimum wage is intensifying at the State Capitol, with just over two weeks to go until the budget deadline.

Union workers gathered at a rally outside the State Capitol, where the main speaker was Governor Cuomo.

“We’re going to get a $15 minimum wage passed!” Cuomo shouted.

  State lawmakers and business leaders are clashing over a proposed expansion of the Paid Family Leave Program. Workers would be eligible to leave their jobs for 12 weeks to care for a new child or seriously ill relative. Governor Cuomo is a leading advocate for Paid Family Leave.

  New York Residents and businesses could see reductions and rebates on taxes when Governor Andrew Cuomo forms his new budget proposal.  Monday he released details of a rumored $2 billion rebate for property taxpayers...though government leaders at the town, city and county level will have to play ball with Albany to get it for their residents.
