  Griffiss Airport in Rome has been awarded one of six test sites for drones that could bring more than a thousand jobs and $ millions in local revenues from Syracuse to Rome to Watertown. 

The Federal Aviation Administration made the announcement of unmanned aircraft national test sites today.  Utica-area congress member Richard Hanna worked for three years with Griffiss, Centerstate C-E-O and a coalition of other companies on the bid that could help people and the region.

The CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CenterState CEO) released its Agenda for Economic Opportunity Thursday, detailing a plan for future development initiatives Thursday that was two years in the making.  After intensive research, planning, and development in partnership with the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program, the CEO released five key findings for shifting Central New York's economic profile in a more positive direction:

Local business leadership organization, Centerstate CEO, wants the community to work together and ask more questions before settling on a solution for the new I-81 viaduct through Syracuse. Centerstate C-E-O is laying out principles and priorities for the one-billion dollar decision that will impact the area for the next 75 years or more.
