Christmas Shopping

Central New York bargain hunters were out and about Friday trying to land those limited black Friday specials.  But Syracuse University professor of retail practice Amanda Nicholson says there’s no reason to rush for most items.

The holiday shopping season is now in full swing, but while it’s true a snowy winter wonderland can get consumers in the Christmas shopping spirit, New York State Retail Council Vice President Ted Potrikus cautions that the chilly weather can result in some frustrating situations for retailers: 

With Christmas now just a week away, procrastinating consumers are simply running out of time - and even the most treacherous weather around New York State isn’t stopping that final Christmas rush.

Every year, Central New York kids request popular toys during the holiday season for various reasons… maybe it’s the bright colors or the sounds they make.  However, the New York Public Interest Research Group is cautioning parents to beware of parts that pose choking hazards, injuries or even lead poisoning.
