Syracuse Doctor Supports Controlled Medical Marijuana Program

A Syracuse Doctor initially skeptical of Governor Cuomo's medical marijuana plan is now embracing what appears to be a closely monitored, research-based model.  

Doctor Jeffrey Sneider is an internist at Brighton Medical Associates, and represents a 10 county region for the Medical Society of New York.  Sneider says he's still learning the details, but so far likes the limited scope of the program.

Winter Storm Causes Governor Cuomo to Issue State of Emergency

A winter storm that’s been called ‘Hercules’ is really packing a punch over the Northeast and has also been making its presence known here in Central New York. Frigid cold temperatures are forecasted to plunge to around zero with windchills dropping to minus ten to 20 below.  In advance of the storm on Thursday, Governor Andrew Cuomo Activated the State Emergency Operations Center.  He also issued a State of Emergency Thursday night.  An emergency management team continues tracking the frigid weather to decide where snowplows and other storm resources are needed.

Syracuse’s Inner Harbor will soon be home to a 130-room Starwood-brand hotel as the first part of the larger, 350-million dollar mixed-use waterfront development project.  Governor Cuomo stopped by Thursday to make the announcement.  In his remarks, he acknowledged the decades-long struggle for any significant progress on the 28 acre parcel.
