Build To Work Program Coordinator Twiggy Billue says the majority of companies are looking to hire for retail and customer service jobs.
An upcoming job fair in Syracuse aims to address one of the biggest challenges facing employers…finding a qualified candidate for the job. A variety of companies will be on hand later this week in hopes of finding a match. Twiggy Billue is program coordinator for Build to Work at Jubilee Homes, which is hosting the fair.
A packed room of job seekers had the chance to make the right connection in Liverpool Wednesday. That’s just what Congressmember Dan Maffei hoped for when he arranged the Job and Opportunity Fair. Inficon was among many companies that have immediate openings. Human Resources director Sue Magary has 10 to 12 openings because business is doing well. "We won the President's award for export this year because our company mainly exports. So it's great we're able to produce something here in the Central New York area that goes other places.
