Federal officials have decided not to pursue a death penalty case against David Renz for last year's murder of a woman and rape of a child.  Renz pled guilty to killing Lori Bresnahan and assaulting the young girl.

David Renz Sentenced On Two of Four Charges

David Renz was sentenced Wednesday for two of four charges against him

David Renz was in Syracuse Federal court for sentencing Wednesday for crimes he committed before he murdered a woman and raped a 10-year-old girl.  The prison terms for all the crimes combined will likely keep him behind bars for the rest of his life. David Renz was sentenced on one count of receiving child pornography and five counts of possessing it. Judge Norman Mordue issued a 20 year sentence for receiving to run before concurrent 10-year terms for possession.  He pleaded guilty to the charges last year.

Renz Confirms He's Responsible for a Liverpool Librarian's Murder and Sexual Assault on a Young Girl

A Cicero man who stabbed a woman to death and sexually assaulted a young girl after kidnapping them at Great Northern Mall plead guilty in court Wednesday.


David Renz will face life in prison without the chance for parole. Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick was grateful to all police agencies that investigated this horrific crime.
