Syracuse football (4-4, 2-2) shut out Wake Forest (4-5, 2-4) in the Carrier Dome 13-0. The Orange defense allowed no points just two weekends after it let Georgia Tech put 56 on the board down in Atlanta.

Both offenses started slow in the first half putting up two zeroes at the intermission. The Orange and Demon Deacons combined for 14 punts and zero 3rd down conversions in the first half.

The Orange looks to rebound from that horrible 56-0 loss against Georgia Tech with a win against Wake Forest at home. SU gave up nearly 400 yards on the ground alone against the Yellow Jackets, but the run defense is not the only worry against the Demon Deacons.

Syracuse basketball gets its season underway Friday night with an exhibition game against Holy Family University. The Orange is coming off one of its most successful seasons in recent memory, heading to the Final Four in Atlanta last April. SU surprised many after being left for dead at the end of the regular season, but after a Big East Tournament appearance and 4 straight wins in the NCAA Tournament in March before its loss to Michigan, the Orange is back ready to go in 2013.

ATLANTA, GA - Syracuse (3-4, 1-2) was throttled 56-0 to Georgia Tech (4-3, 3-2) at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday. The Orange offense struggled to get off the ground, amassing just 75 total rushing yards and 133 passing yards. SU head coach Scott Shafer was most frustrated with his team's inability to stay disciplined.

"Too many penalties today," coach Shafer said, in reference to his team's nine infractions for 91 yards. "We need to mature quickly as a team, but it starts with me."
