A congressional delegation representing three key military installations across central and northern New York stopped by Hancock Air Base to make the case against potentially deep defense department budget cuts.  

  Freshman Republican Elise Stefanik represents Fort drum in the 21st district.  She says if the federal sequester budget is allowed to continue, it could have an impact on troop training…and consequences on military readiness.

  One of New York’s U-S Senators hopes to hear the President embrace one of her key issues in the State of the Union address tonight.  

Senator Gillibrand will be listening to the State of the union address to hear if President Obama is taking up here ongoing fight against campus sexual assault…which she says just isn’t being taken seriously.

With primary elections a week away, Utica-area Congressmember Richard Hanna seemed to be trying to bolster his Republican credentials Tuesday by bringing Long Island colleague Representative Peter King to Central New York.  

 Hanna is facing a primary challenge from Tea Party candidate and state assemblymember Claudia Tenney of New Hartford.  She’s accused him and the Republican Party of abandoning their conservative principles of less government and lower taxes.  Hanna says he doesn’t get too mired in the politics of his positions.

A state assembly member is ready to kick her campaign to jump to the federal government into high gear.  Claudia Tenney is trying to wrestle the republican nomination away from incumbent congress member Richard Hanna in New York’s 22nd district.  Tenney is calling Hanna a disappointment to conservatives…noting at least one publication calls him the third most liberal G-O-P house member.  She believes asserting her conservative credentials will help her win a primary.

  Griffiss Airport in Rome has been awarded one of six test sites for drones that could bring more than a thousand jobs and $ millions in local revenues from Syracuse to Rome to Watertown. 

The Federal Aviation Administration made the announcement of unmanned aircraft national test sites today.  Utica-area congress member Richard Hanna worked for three years with Griffiss, Centerstate C-E-O and a coalition of other companies on the bid that could help people and the region.
