Over the course of James Cody’s 17 years in charge, the hospital continued to expand and offer more services.  He focused his staff on making quality of Veteran’s medical care a positive experience.  Cody recalls a veteran whom he met about 7 years ago who made a lasting impression on him.  The veteran claimed he stayed away from the hospital since 1973.

Volunteers at the Syracuse VA Medical Center say if it wasn’t for the service they provide through the Disabled American Veterans, many would never make it to Syracuse for medical care.  For the trained Volunteer Drivers are dedicated such as Dana Squire, the chance to serve transport them is an honor.

Women Veterans in the Central New York area have a new, larger medical center to treat a variety of needs.  That can mean normal health services and even the effects of sexual assault.
