ATLANTA, GA - Syracuse (3-4, 1-2) was throttled 56-0 to Georgia Tech (4-3, 3-2) at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday. The Orange offense struggled to get off the ground, amassing just 75 total rushing yards and 133 passing yards. SU head coach Scott Shafer was most frustrated with his team's inability to stay disciplined.

"Too many penalties today," coach Shafer said, in reference to his team's nine infractions for 91 yards. "We need to mature quickly as a team, but it starts with me."

Syracuse (3-3, 1-1) hits the road again this weekend as the orange travels down to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech (3-3, 2-2). SU comes into the game fresh off its first ACC win and a road win against North Carolina State.

The Orange faces a Yellow Jackets team that ranks 6th in the nation in rushing yards led by the two-headed monster of senior running back, David Sims, and sophomore quarterback, Vad Lee. The two have combined for 635 yards on the year and the team as a whole has more than 1,700 yards on the ground.

Evanston, Ill. - #19 Northwestern (2-0) crushed Syracuse (0-2) 48-27 at Ryan Field Saturday. The Orange has dropped both games this season to two Big Ten teams, Penn State and Northwestern. The Scott Shafer era has not gotten off to a great start and the first year head coach is taking full responsibility.

“We didn't play well in this game, and it starts with me.” Shafer said following the loss. “I have to fix these mistakes for next week,” the Coach continued.

Jazz is one of those music genres that divides listeners into 3 basic categories: enthusiasts, acceptors, and avoiders.  Enthusiasts are those that are passionate about the music and it's history.  Acceptors might not necessarily know what they are listening to but often enjoy and accept what they are hearing.  Avoiders...well they need no definition.  The latest incarnation of the Bill Horrace and Dave Solazzo Experience attempts to bridge some gaps between enthusiast and acceptor and perhaps snag an avoider or two.
