WAER Hall of Fame

  During a celebration held on Saturday, August 23, 2014, Sean McDonough (SU '84) and Bill Roth (SU '87) were both inducted into the WAER Hall of Fame.  The program highlighted each inductees contributions to the sports broadcasting industry and their connection and contributions to Syracuse University noncommercial radio station, WAER, where both served as student broadcasters in the sports department.

WAER inducted celebrated broadcaster Mike Tirico into its Hall of Fame on February 28, 2014 in a ceremony on the Campus of Syracuse University.

Veteran sports broadcaster Ian Eagle '90 was inducted into the WAER Hall of Fame on Friday August 16, 2013 at the Joseph I Lubin House in Manhattan, NY.

Eagle is most notably known as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Brooklyn Nets on the YES network for the past 18 seasons.  His work on YES earned him a New York Emmy for play-by-play earlier this year.  In addition to his Nets duties, Eagle also broadcasts NFL football, NCAA basketball and Tennis for CBS Sports.
