HBO Documentary on Marty Glickman Premiers in New York City

Ian Eagle Inducted Into WAER Hall of Fame

Veteran sports broadcaster Ian Eagle '90 was inducted into the WAER Hall of Fame on Friday August 16, 2013 at the Joseph I Lubin House in Manhattan, NY.

Eagle is most notably known as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Brooklyn Nets on the YES network for the past 18 seasons.  His work on YES earned him a New York Emmy for play-by-play earlier this year.  In addition to his Nets duties, Eagle also broadcasts NFL football, NCAA basketball and Tennis for CBS Sports.

SU Football Builds Teamwork at Fort Drum

Fort Drum, NY -  Earlier this morning, Syracuse football players and coaches alike filed off the team bus one by one with sweatshirts turned inside-out. Because getting your favorite sweatshirt covered in paint would be no fun.

For another year, SU football players and coaches played paintball with their teammates and members of the military at Fort Drum.

Syracuse Officially in ACC

It was a great day in New York City as Syracuse, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame officially become members of the ACC on Wednesday. And the theme of the day was excitement for the future. “We’re in a great position for the short term and the long term.” Said ACC commissioner John Swofford. “We have a great group of 15 institutions with unlimited potential for the future.”

Carter-Williams Drafted by 76ers

Carter-Williams was drafted 11th overall in the NBA Draft Thursday night by Philadelphia

  Michael Carter-Williams, who helped Syracuse reach the Final Four this past season, was selected 11th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Carter-Williams started all 40 games as a sophomore with the Orange and was part of a squad that finished the season 30-10 overall. Syracuse reached the NCAA semifinals before having its season ended by eventual national runnerup Michigan.
